Accountant - fixed assets (Pittsburgh, PA)

Amberfield Rook Water Authority is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for capital projects, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 17 people based in Pittsburgh. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with capital projects.
