Accountant - fixed assets (Pittsburgh, PA)

Bluepeak Nest Housing manages affordable housing communities across Pittsburgh. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 102 people based in Pittsburgh. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to rent assistance, and clear open items. • Track costs around lease compliance against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Pittsburgh. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
