Accountant - fixed assets (Pittsburgh, PA)

Harborlight Birch Farms grows and distributes produce from farms near Pittsburgh. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around harvest schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to field records, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with field records. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Pittsburgh, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
