Accountant - fixed assets (Phoenix, AZ)

Fernwood Bridge Freight Group is a Phoenix logistics company with trucks, warehouses and dispatch, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. On-time is the promise and we work hard to keep it. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around claims against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with dock schedules. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Phoenix. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
