Accountant - fixed assets (Phoenix, AZ)

We are growing our team at Fernwood Maple Community Partners and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of about 622 people based in Phoenix. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to volunteer shifts, and clear open items. • Track costs around donor records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
