Accountant - fixed assets (Phoenix, AZ)

Harborlight Cross Civic Services supports public agencies in Phoenix with budgeting, records and programmes, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Public service means patience, paperwork and pride in the outcome. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around case files against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Phoenix. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
