Accountant - fixed assets (Orlando, FL)

We are growing our team at Fernwood Wren Energy and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to billing disputes, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around hardship programmes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Orlando, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
