Accountant - fixed assets (Orlando, FL)

Clearpath Junction Water Authority is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for capital projects, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 40 people based in Orlando. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around pipe repairs against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to capital projects, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with capital projects. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Orlando, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
