Accountant - fixed assets (Omaha, NE)

Bright Ridge Insurance Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for claims, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 30 people based in Omaha. What you will do • Track costs around customer complaints against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to claims, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with claims. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Omaha, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
