Accountant - fixed assets (Omaha, NE)

Silverline Cobalt Insurance is an insurance company in Omaha with claims and service teams. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to policy renewals, and clear open items. • Track costs around catastrophe response against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with policy renewals. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Omaha. • We reply to every applicant.
