Accountant - fixed assets (Oakland, CA)

Fernwood Corner Medical Group builds devices used by hospitals and clinics, with its team based in Oakland, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 69 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around clinical evaluations against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to production lots, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Oakland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
