Accountant - fixed assets (Oakland, CA)

Amberfield Kestrel Property Management manages apartment communities around Oakland. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Track costs around rent collection against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to vendor invoices, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with vendor invoices. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Oakland. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
