Accountant - fixed assets (New Orleans, LA)

We are growing our team at Westbrook Iron Medical and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to regulatory submissions, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in New Orleans. • We reply to every applicant.
