Accountant - fixed assets (New Orleans, LA)

We are growing our team at Lumen Linden Civic Services Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 88 people based in New Orleans. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around permits against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with procurement. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in New Orleans. • We reply to every applicant.
