Accountant - fixed assets (New Orleans, LA)

Bright Glen Civic Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for budget submissions, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to budget submissions, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around constituent requests against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with budget submissions.
