Accountant - fixed assets (New Orleans, LA)

Foxglove Lakeside Foods is a New Orleans food manufacturer supplying grocers and food-service customers, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in New Orleans. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to cold storage, and clear open items. • Track costs around sanitation schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with cold storage. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
