Accountant - fixed assets (New Orleans, LA)

Clearpath Pine Press is a printer and publisher in New Orleans serving local and national clients, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Deadlines are tight and craftsmanship matters. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to bindery work, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around paper stock against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with bindery work. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in New Orleans. • We reply to every applicant.
