Accountant - fixed assets (Nashville, TN)

Stonegate Forge Environmental Services serves homes and businesses with collection and disposal in Nashville, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around landfill records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service complaints, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with service complaints. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Nashville, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
