Accountant - fixed assets (Nashville, TN)

Foxglove Quill Foods produces packaged foods at its Nashville plant, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. We like people who take pride in what they make. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to cold storage, and clear open items. • Track costs around ingredient orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Nashville, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
