Accountant - fixed assets (Nashville, TN)

Bluepeak Junction Markets serves neighbourhoods around Nashville with fresh food and everyday goods, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of about 313 people based in Nashville. What you will do • Track costs around shrink and waste against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to store inventory, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Nashville. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
