Accountant - fixed assets (Minneapolis, MN)

Nova Haven Property Management manages apartment communities around Minneapolis. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 96 people based in Minneapolis. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around lease renewals against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with unit turnovers. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Minneapolis, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
