Accountant - fixed assets (Milwaukee, WI)

Westbrook Harbor Transit Planning is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for accessibility audits, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 859 people based in Milwaukee. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to accessibility audits, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around ridership counts against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with accessibility audits.
