Accountant - fixed assets (Miami, FL)

Fernwood Clear Environmental Services serves homes and businesses with collection and disposal in Miami. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. Safety briefings happen every morning. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to recycling loads, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around landfill records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with recycling loads. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Miami. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
