Accountant - fixed assets (Miami, FL)

Stonegate Energy supplies electricity and gas to homes and businesses around Miami. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 36 people based in Miami. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around hardship programmes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to usage data, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Miami. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
