Accountant - fixed assets (Miami, FL)

Clearpath River Water Authority operates treatment plants and pipelines around Miami, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Our work is invisible when it goes well, and we are proud of that. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to treatment plant data, and clear open items. • Track costs around billing accounts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with treatment plant data. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Miami. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
