Accountant - fixed assets (Miami, FL)

Bright Granite Manufacturing Group manufactures parts and assemblies at its Miami plant, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Shifts are steady and overtime is planned. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around production lines against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to scrap and rework, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with scrap and rework. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
