Accountant - fixed assets (Miami, FL)

Foxglove Haven Insurance is an insurance company in Miami with claims and service teams, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of about 795 people based in Miami. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around premium billing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with policy renewals. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Miami. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
