Accountant - fixed assets (Memphis, TN)

We are growing our team at Harborlight Summit Auto Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Memphis. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around vehicle inspections against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Memphis. • We reply to every applicant.
