Accountant - fixed assets (Memphis, TN)

Greenridge Umber Legal Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for trust accounts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Confidentiality and accuracy are taken very seriously. What you will do • Track costs around billing records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to trust accounts, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Memphis, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
