Accountant - fixed assets (Madison, WI)

Northwind Bridge Hospitality is a hospitality company in Madison with restaurants, rooms and catering. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. We work weekends and holidays and we make it fun. What you will do • Track costs around food costs against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to housekeeping schedules, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with housekeeping schedules. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Madison. • We reply to every applicant.
