Accountant - fixed assets (Little Rock, AR)

We are growing our team at Northwind Amber Construction and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. We build things that last and we are honest about schedules. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around subcontractor invoices against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with project schedules. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Little Rock, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
