Accountant - fixed assets (Las Vegas, NV)

We are growing our team at Westbrook River Insurance and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to underwriting files, and clear open items. • Track costs around policy renewals against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with underwriting files. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Las Vegas. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
