Accountant - fixed assets (Knoxville, TN)

Summit Juniper Legal Group Partners is a Knoxville practice with attorneys, paralegals and client-service staff. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. Confidentiality and accuracy are taken very seriously. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to intake forms, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around billing records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with intake forms. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Knoxville, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
