Accountant - fixed assets (Knoxville, TN)

Foxglove Quarry Environmental Services is an environmental-services company in Knoxville with routes, transfer stations and recycling. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. We take pride in clean streets. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to collection routes, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Knoxville, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
