Accountant - fixed assets (Jacksonville, FL)

Cedar Iron Property Management manages apartment communities around Jacksonville. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 18 people based in Jacksonville. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to unit turnovers, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around rent collection against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
