Accountant - fixed assets (Jacksonville, FL)

Bright Vale Markets Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for store inventory, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Jacksonville. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to store inventory, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around promotions against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with store inventory. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Jacksonville, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
