Accountant - fixed assets (Jacksonville, FL)

Bright Harbor Arts Center Group runs a venue and education programmes in Jacksonville, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 46 people based in Jacksonville. What you will do • Track costs around volunteer programmes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to ticketing, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with ticketing. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Jacksonville. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
