Accountant - fixed assets (Jackson, MS)

Northwind Cross Inspection Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for client sites, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Jackson. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around scheduling against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to client sites, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
