Accountant - fixed assets (Indianapolis, IN)

Westbrook Fox Auto Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for vehicle inspections, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Technicians are respected and trained. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to vehicle inspections, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with vehicle inspections. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Indianapolis, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
