Accountant - fixed assets (Houston, TX)

Bluepeak Ivory Inspection Services Group is an inspection company in Houston with field technicians and lab staff, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 111 people based in Houston. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around client sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to field inspections, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
