Accountant - fixed assets (Houston, TX)

Summit Vista Manufacturing is a Houston manufacturer supplying regional industrial customers, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of about 827 people based in Houston. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around tooling against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer orders, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with customer orders. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Houston. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
