Accountant - fixed assets (Houston, TX)

Stonegate Pine Manufacturing makes precision components in Houston. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 33 people based in Houston. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to production lines, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around tooling against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with production lines. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Houston, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
