Accountant - fixed assets (Houston, TX)

Foxglove Stone Foods produces packaged foods at its Houston plant, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Houston. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to cold storage, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around sanitation schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with cold storage. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Houston. • We reply to every applicant.
