Accountant - fixed assets (Houston, TX)

We are growing our team at Cedar Juniper Facilities and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. Clear communication between supervisors and crews matters. What you will do • Track costs around contractor visits against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with customer sites. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Houston. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
