Accountant - fixed assets (Houston, TX)

Highbridge Juniper Facilities Group cleans and maintains buildings for schools, offices and hospitals around Houston, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around customer sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to work orders, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with work orders. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Houston. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
