Accountant - fixed assets (Honolulu, HI)

Northwind Vista Housing manages affordable housing communities across Honolulu, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. We value patience and follow-through. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to rent assistance, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with rent assistance. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Honolulu. • We reply to every applicant.
