Accountant - fixed assets (Honolulu, HI)

Northwind Sparrow Banking Services provides everyday banking and small-business lending around Honolulu. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 21 people based in Honolulu. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to fraud alerts, and clear open items. • Track costs around branch operations against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with fraud alerts. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Honolulu, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
