Accountant - fixed assets (Hartford, CT)

We are growing our team at Redstone Cedar Legal Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 144 people based in Hartford. What you will do • Track costs around client files against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to intake forms, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
