Accountant - fixed assets (Grand Rapids, MI)

Amberfield Wilder Construction delivers building projects for owners across the Grand Rapids region, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of about 527 people based in Grand Rapids. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to safety records, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with safety records.
