Accountant - fixed assets (Fresno, CA)

We are growing our team at Harborlight Sparrow Hospitality and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 36 people based in Fresno. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to supplier orders, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around guest bookings against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with supplier orders. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Fresno. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
